Bon Acre Hamlet

A neo-traditional village concept for the Town of Sand Lake, Rensselaer County

Project Overview:

EJP Construction Inc., a Rensselaer County-based development firm, is planning a mixed-use development called The Bon Acre Hamlet.  Based on a “community center” or “main street” model, the plan calls for the establishment of numerous businesses, single-family and senior residential units linked together in a traditional pattern with sidewalks and pedestrian-level lighting. The project will also feature more than 40 acres of open space for hiking trails, ponds, playing fields, and other recreation areas. The entire project area consists of 92 acres.

The Bon Acre Hamlet project will compliment the existing hamlets of Sand Lake and Averill Park by supporting the growth of the community in a manner consistent with historic development patterns of Rensselaer County and the Town of Sand Lake. The project will achieve a number of important economic and quality of life objectives, including enhancing the tax base, providing much-needed commercial and housing opportunities, as well as enhancing the public’s access to recreational areas.
